The Sound Spa

Can we let you in on a little secret??

Well, maybe it’s not a secret.  But Sound Immersions are not a new experience AT ALL.  Actually, they’ve been practiced in different ways for thousands of years.

Sound therapy may be new to you, or new to the people around you.  But the modern practice of sound immersions actually started taking shape back in the 1960’s and 1970’s.  Don Conreaux, a sound healer and musician, is credited with hosting the first sound bath in San Francisco in 1975, using gongs and other instruments to create a powerful and transformative experience for participants. (PS- our founder and lead educator, Noelle studied under one of his students).

And for decades, the practice has been tucked away.  Only practiced by “those who know,” mainly yogis, meditation centers, and those looking to be more enlightened.  For decades… these groups have been carrying their yoga mats, blankets, and pillows into random yoga studios or wellnesses centers around the world.  Laying on the floor, with very little comfort for their backs and hips.  Sometimes practiced outside, in caves, on mountains, or in desserts… there is really no limit to the ways that sound immersions have been experienced around the world.

In Need of an Upgrade

With the advancement of science showing the undeniable benefits of sound waves on the human bodies (confirming what ancient cultures have known for so long)… it became more and more obvious that it was time for Sound Immersions to come out of the shadows and into the mainstream.  But running around to different studios, following the traveling facilitators with our pillows and yoga mats in tow was quite the chore.  With kids and busy schedules, it was hard to make the sound immersion practice a regular part of our life… but we craved it so much because of the great benefits we were experiencing.

Plus, laying down on the hard floors for an extended period of time was just not working.  The intermittent streaks of back pain were seriously less than pleasant.

So what did we do?  We scoured the internet to figure out ways to make it better.  To improve the experience, we searched through sites of other places holding sound immersions throughout the US, and even in Europe, Canada and Asia.  And we found pretty much the same thing.  Everyone was laying on yoga mats!  And the number of sound sessions available was LOW.  Maybe once or twice per week.

We needed more than that.

Creating The Upgrades:

Determined to find another solution… we brainstormed through Amazon and Google to find solutions.  We spent weeks searching for ideas that could be used to enhance the sound immersion experience.  And when we landed on our mattress pads, we knew we were onto something.

After over a year of perfecting our sound immersion experience, we are proud to say that we are the first of our kind.  The first FULL-SERVICE sound immersion studio that is hosting more than 10 sessions per week, making sound therapy easy and convenient for busy schedules.

Because let’s be honest….. if it doesn’t fit into your schedule, its probably not getting done. Right?

So that’s where we continued to innovate.  To make changes and adapt to times that are convenient for people from all walks of life.  Whether you are working 9-5…. working from home.. or retired and spending time with family and friends, we are here for you!

The Upgraded Sound Immersion

At our studio, you will find that we do things differently.  And it has been that continued drive for improvement and solutions that brought us to where we are today.

Comfy mattresses and ALL the props are provided.

A convenient schedule that makes sound immersions easy to schedule.

Soundproof room to remove outside noise.

Multiple facilitators at each session,

An official “snore stopper” (yes that is a priority for us… it’s just a loving tap on the shoulder- but if you’ve ever been trying to relax next to a snoring stranger- you’ll get why it matters!)

Enhanced water fountain.  Water is important to us, because it is THE most important substance to the body.  Our water is Reverse Osmosis, and also passes through an Ultra Violet Filter, and an Alkalizer/Remineralizer.

Highly trained staff.  Our staff continues to learn and grow with their sound facilitation skills.

On Site Laundry.  Which allows us to ensure each person gets fresh sheets, blankets, and pillowcases.  Our eye masks are also UV sanitized between each session.

And soooo much more!

And honestly… we wouldn’t have it any other way. 💗
