Sound Sessions at The Sound Spa are self-care that STICKS with you. That means that not only will you feel more relaxed after a session, but you will continue to feel the benefits for days and months to come.
Science has shown us how the power of sound vibration and frequency interacts with our bodies on a cellular level. During a sound session, you will be immersed in the vibrations that are most beneficial for your body. One session is great for feeling more relaxed, calm, and improving sleep. By attending multiple sessions over a period of time, you will start to notice profound changes throughout multiple aspects of your life.
If this is your first time, plan to arrive 15 minutes before your schedule start time. This will allow you to get settled and prepared for your session.
We provide all of the comfortable props you will need to maximize your experience. However, you are also welcome to bring in any items you wish. All guests are provided with a 4″ memory foam mattress pad, soft blankets, a memory foam neck pillow, eye pillows and bolsters to help alleviate any pressure on your back.
We begin all sessions with a few minutes of stretching and taking time to slow down our breathing, so that we can begin to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This begins to calm the nervous system, which ensures the highest quality experience once the sounds begin.
We play a variety of instruments throughout the session, which are never played loudly or abruptly. Our sessions have been mindfully curated to ensure the best experience. We include many ancient and tribal instruments that have been used for thousands of years, as well as modern instruments.
The sound gradually builds during the session, to ensure a relaxing sound journey for your mind. This time is spent slowing down brain waves and balances the nervous system.
There is no “right” or “wrong” way to be during a sound immersion. Some use many props, others prefer none. You can lay in any position you choose, or choose to not lay down at all. Whether you are sitting or laying down, you will still get the benefits of the sounds and vibrations.
Some may fall asleep during a session, and that is perfectly okay. We all have different needs, and we honor that during sound sessions.
Everyone experiences a sound immersion if their own unique way. Therefore, it is difficult to anticipate how you will feel after specifically. When the sound immersion is over, some may feel a bit woozy and need a few extra minutes at the studio afterwards. We are always available after to chat or answer any questions.
We highly recommend drinking extra water after a sound session. The body will continue to process and remove toxins for up to 48 hours after the session, water helps greatly with this.
